Benefits of Freeze Dried Raw Treats

Freeze Drying Process = No Preserves, No Chemicals

Firstly, what exactly is freeze-drying?

Freeze drying, also known as lyophilisation or cryodesiccation, is a low temperature dehydration process that involves freezing the product, lowering pressure, and by a process called sublimation, the ice particles are turned into vapor and removed. This is in contrast to dehydration by where we evaporate the water content using heat.

This freeze-drying process preserves the nutrition and flavor, making it safe for long-term storage without chemical preservatives or additives!

Single Ingredient, Multiple benefits

Freeze-dried raw treats are a great way to indulge your pup without any of the hassles of raw meat. Freeze-drying preserves all-natural ingredients, so added chemicals aren’t needed for long shelf life or allergies concerns! Our new range of freeze-dried products is single ingredient, so it's full of benefits like:

  • Improvement of coat and skin health
  • Better digestion
  • Reduced inflammation from conditions such as allergies
  • Immune system regulation, boosting of suppressed immune systems and calming overactive immune systems
  • Lowering fat production

Keep in mind, not all freeze-dried brands are minimal ingredients.

However, Pet Snacks freeze-dried range are single ingredient, and only contain raw meat.

Which brings us to our next finding…

Freeze-Dried Raw Meat Retains Nutrients

People are often squeamish about the thought of raw meat, but there’s nothing more natural for dogs than what their ancestors would have eaten in the wild.

The nutrients found within these meats provide a powerful boost to your pup's health and vitality! Dehydration is a fantastic way to preserve meat-based treats for your dog, but it does use heat that kills some of the nutritional integrity compared to raw.

Freeze drying, however, leaves nutrients in their natural state, so they are considered raw and high in nutritional integrity.

Freeze dried treats are great value for money

Because the freeze-drying process removes water, the raw meat reduces around 80% of the original weight. This means more value for the consumer!

For example, a 100g pack of freeze-dried Roo liver contains 300g before going through this treatment; your dog will get plenty of protein by eating much less, helping to reduce overall food consumption and body weight.

Pet Snacks recently introduced our first-ever freeze-dried range. All ingredients are sourced in Australia, and our process is of the highest standard, start to finish. If you are interested in leveling up your dog's treats, there is nothing better than this!
